Z-Ro and Chill - The Rain (Album Review)

Z-Ro doesn’t usually disappoint with solo’s or Collaboration albums. He is an extremely talented rapper and singer from Huston, TX. He has the most soulful voice that I have heard in rap, aside from Nate Dogg. Even though he has great vocal skills he has no shortage of rapping ability. I got interested in this new collaboration with Chill after hearing some of the buzz about it. I was very disappointed with the outcome. There is some rap substance on here, as far as subject matter, but most of the album sounds really repetitive. Most of the beats are very similar. Also Z-Ro’s hooks are all very similar. Not only are most of the album songs similar, they are not even good quality cuts. This whole album was a step back in quality for Z-ro. Z-Ro and Chill’s raps on this were pretty good considering the beats they were working with. This album just lacks Bump-ability. I think I only really like two or three songs on here: This Is What You Want, Mama's Lil Boy No Mo, and Everybody Raise Up. There was something different missing with each of the songs on here. This album doesn’t even compare to his last Collabo with Trae. I give this a 2.5/5.

01. Mamas Lil Boy No Mo Ft.Tunie (3:43)
02. Soulja Ft.Reggie Hackett (3:26)
03. Not So Hard Ft.Snake & Lionel B (4:47)
04. Everything In Front Of Me (3:26)

Maino - If Tommorow Comes (Album Review)

Everyone who is familiar with the underground NY mixtape scene has heard of Miano. He has been one of the few new standouts in NY and has been putting in hard work for years. His first street single Rumors won me over immediately. He has a great voice for rap and a unique delivery. This is his first studio album, and it will definitely not be his last. Before rap, Maino had served 10 years in prison for drug related kidnapping. This album tells the story of how he “came up from nothing” and is now living his dream. Most listeners can identify with his struggle because he has been through the shit that most rappers pretend to be going through. It makes his music “realer” in that way. This is another great album drop of the summer. Maino’s debut album was basically everything I would have expected from him. This album is like the soundtrack to the movie that is his life. For the most part Maino’s flow on this is everything fans have come to love about him. The only track he sounded a bit off was on Remember My Name. This album has its share of singles featuring RnB heavyweights, but what separates Maino from the rest is that he keeps it real, even on his singles. I respect that. This album is going to put him in line for NY heavyweight status. The standouts on here were Gangster, Here Comes Trouble, Runaway Slave, Floating, Make a Movie, Back to Life, and Hi Hater (even though it’s old). I give this 4/5: another great album of summer 2009.

01. Million Bucks (featuring Swizz Beatz) 2:57
02. Scene 1: If Tomorrow Comes... 1:20
03. Back To Life (featuring Pusha! Montana) 3:14
04. Remember My Name 3:46

06. Scene 2: The Meeting 0:39
07. All The Above (featuring T-Pain) 5:15
08. Here Comes Trouble 3:14
09. Scene 3: Hating 1:09
10. Hi Hater 3:37
11. Let's Make A Movie 4:02
12. Kill You 3:05
13. Scene 4: Contemplating 0:48
14. Runaway Slave 3:58

Spectac & 9th Wonder - The Corner of Spec & 9th (Mixtape Review)

I'm not familiar with Spectac at all. I only listened to this tape a couple times and it always fell off for me after the fourth track. It seemed kinda like the beats took over the flow at that point and the song Mama Say, to me, was completely wack. The music is really chill and has a real old school feel to it. Check it out or don't, I'm not going to rate it.

Murda Mook - Misunderstood (Mixtape Review)

This is my first time listening to Murda Mook and I have to say he does have some skill. This tape is a good showcase of his lyrical ability. Unfortunately it also gives me the feeling Mook won't be getting radio play anytime soon. The songs on here are pretty good conceptially but I couldn't see any of these tracks or Mook himself blowing up. It's pretty much just raw hip-hop without much style. Also Mook delivers every other line as if it was a punchline, when in reality, most of the time, it's not. Misunderstood is a good mixtape, but the features have a habit of outshining Mook on his own shit. Stand out tracks are Best Rapper Alive, This is Why You Flop, Aint Nuting Change 1, and What Happen 2 NYC.

3.5/5

MassFiveStar And Big Mike - I Am King Of Mass (Mixtape Review)

I'm from Mass so when I saw this mixtape I figured I had to check it out. I've never heard of Five Star before but I really hoped he'd be good since hes representing my state. Unfortunately Mass Five Star sounds like he belongs in G-Unit. His flow is good but he never changes it up and it gets old quickly. He's clearly a good rapper but he raps about stereotypical gangster shit. That isn't a problem if you know how to make a single but I couldn't find one on the tape. Only song I could see myself bumping is Mass That's Where I'm From, and that's because its where I'm from. He's jacking for beats but he doesn't give me any reason to associate those beats with him. If you're into lyrics with no substance, half-decent choruses, and beats you've heard before, you'll like this. I don't plan on listening to it again.

2.5/5

1. Intro
2. Mass That's Where I'm From
3. I'm a G (U Ain't A G)
4. Everyday I Gain A Hater

Wale - Back To The Feature (Mixtape Review)

This year has been the year of the freshmen in hip-hop. The freshmen with most buzz this year have been: Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, Drake, Charles Hamilton, and Wale. For those of you who do not know Wale, he has been gaining respect for a few years now. He was just signed to Jay-Z’s label: Roc Nation. Wale falls under the smooth/backpack hip-hop category, only he has a touch of pop. He is known for rapping about “real” subjects. His flow is consistent and laidback. He also has a large amount of mainstream appeal. It reminds me of when Kanye first emerged in hip-hop. His single “Chillen” with Lady Gaga has done well on the charts. You can tell from this single that his verses are infectious; fans will have no choice, but to rap along with him. Wale’s new mixtape Back To The Feature shows how Wale can hold his own with the freshman as well as the veterans of hip hop. 9th Wonder handles all of the production on here and does a nice job with it (for the most part). There are some really good songs on this new tape, but there are also some mediocre ones. Wale’s flow is very consistent on the tape and never falters. There were a lot of standouts on here: New Soul, Reason, Rather Be With You, The Sun, Pot of Gold, Sharp, and Wordplay. If he keeps up his good work he will have a successful album this year. I give this tape a 3.5/5. I may have given this a 4/5, but there was too much talk from him at the end of each track.

1. “Wordplay” feat. Curren$y & Tre
2. “Cypha” feat. Young Chris, Freeway & Beanie Sigel
3. “Chillin’” [Catch vs. 9th] feat. Lady Gaga

6. “Lifes A B***H” feat. Talib Kweli & Joell Ortiz

Gand Puba - Retroactive (Album Review)

One of the originators of hip-hop, Grand Puba, has just come out with a new album: Retroactive. Puba had one of the most unique flows and voices of the early 90’s. He was a founding member of the group Brand Nubian. Like he said on Reel to Reel, he “usually makes records about hittin’ skins.” That is what the fans expect and want to hear from him. It seems like he may have grown out of that during his 8 year hiatus from hip-hop. On this record new record he mostly tries to educate black youth to work harder and follow their dreams. It is an entirely positive record. Aside from a few old-school sounding songs like: This Joint Right Here, Go Hard, Same old Drama, and Good To Go; this album was a disappointment to me. The flow that used to separate him from the pack has now faded into mediocrity. His verses used to outshine anyone that he was on tracks with, but it seems like his drive has died over time. There were weak hooks, poor beat selections, and mediocre collaborations. I can’t remember the last time I heard a decent new age album from an old school legend. I felt the same way about Retrospective as I did about Kool G Rap’s Half A Klip from last year. I was really looking forward to this release. Maybe my expectations were too high. I give this a 3/5.

Cappadonna - Slang Prostitution (Album Review)

Cappadonna is a long-time Wu-affiliate. It was rumored that he became the Clan’s 9th or 10th member according to certain sources, after ODB’s Death. He does not have a flawless flow, but his lyrics are penetrating and original. His raps mostly cover NY street subjects. It was reported that during his hiatus from hip-hop that he wandered the streets of NY homeless and worked as a Taxi cab driver. I have mixed feelings about this new release. It feels like a lazy effort on his part, but I am not sure yet. Most of his other releases had to grow on me for a while before I like them. His style hasn’t changed much on this. He is still talking about grimy gangster subjects and his constant struggles as a b-list rapper. I felt like he let the beats get away from him at some points on this. The production on this was mediocre as expected from the low-budget Chambermusik Record label. The single Somebody’s Got To Go was definitely the best song on this. It features Cap flowing perfectly over a jazzy mobster beat. The other standouts on this were Da Vorzon, Pistachio, Savage Life, and Walk With Me. This new release will not be bringing in anymore fans for Cap, I give it a 3/5.

  1. You Can't Keep a Good Man Down (part 1) 1:26

Dope Boy - Killa Cali Vol 1 (Mixtape Review)

Listened through this mixtape once, and thought about giving the dude a second chance but couldn't go through with it. Dope Boy has a good flow but his lyrics need work. There are a lot of forced rhymes here that really break my immersion in the music and make me go "what the fuck?". The choruses on this tape were horrible. I wish he had just rapped over a beat and left them out. No stand out tracks, nothing single worthy, but I will definitely give his next mixtape a chance because I was feeling the flow and think he has potential.

Dolla - Another Day Another Dolla (Mixtape Review)

This is Dolla's 2nd mixtape and he has deviated a bit from rapping exclusively about pussy. Don't get me wrong, it's still a big part of the tape, but he also went the way of the stereotypical rapper. He's rapping about money, hoes, and status. Other than the subject matter this is still Dolla at his best. If you liked the first mixtape you will like this too. There are a bunch of songs that I consider single worthy and the only downside is that one verse tracks are in abundance. I am not a big fan of songs under 3 minutes.

Soul Assassins - Intermission (Album Review)

The Soul Assassins are a group formed in the late 90’s centered by the rap duo Cypress Hill. All of the production by the group is done by Dj Muggs of Cypress Hill. Some of the most notable members of the group are B-Real, Bun-B, La Coka Nostra, GZA, RZA, Sick Jacken, Reef the Lost Cause, and Outer Space, but there are many others. Despite the extensive member list of the group, there is no shortage of talented artists. This new album Intermission is their 3rd studio album following an 8 year hiatus. This album certainly had the potential to be excellent, as does anything Dj Muggs produces. But, as you might expect from a group composed of vastly different artists connected by loose affiliations; this album came out scattered and directionless. Don’t get me wrong, this album bumps hard, but it just does not work well as an album. It just seems more like a DJ Muggs Mixtape than anything else. For the most part the production was creative and original but, some of the cuts on here just came out badly. Considering Dj Muggs’s track record this was surprising. Most of the tracks on this are full of aggressive lyrics from talented and underappreciated artists. My three favorites on this are Gangsta Shit, Figure it Out, and Rep Yo Shit. The other standouts are Intermission, Gunshots, Classical, and Do It. The rest of the tracks ranged from mediocre to terrible. Although there are some great songs on here, the mid and low points of this album bring down what should have been a potentially amazing album. I give it a 3.5/5.

01 - Gangsta Shit feat Bun B + M1
02 - Classical feat Sick Jacken & Evidence
03 - Gunshots - feat Chace Infinite & Alchemist
04 - Do It feat La Coka Nostra

Naledge - Chicago Picasso (Album Review)

Naledge is an independent emcee from Chicago and is half of the group Kidz in the Hall. He rose in popularity after his first album with Kidz in the Hall. The album received high critical acclaim. I really enjoyed both of the singles from each of Kidz in the Hall albums “Till the Wheels Fall Off” and “Drivin’ Down the Block.” I even heard them on the radio. However, I have a hard time listening to an entire album by them. I can’t help but become bored of Naledge. His lyrics are always meaningful, but there is just something repetitive about him. I can’t really figure it out. Maybe his personality is just boring. I also feel that, even on his albums, the beats really range in their appeal. For instance, I either really like them or they just immediately bore me. Either way, I can never get through his albums without getting bored of them. His latest release falls in the same category. I enjoyed the guest features on this more than Naledge for the most part. The standouts AKA the only tracks I can stand are Cool Relax, Viva El Fantastico, Futuristic Shit, Life Styles of the Rich and Famous, and Look at them Hips. This album/mixtape gets a 3/5. Let me know what the rest of you think about this tape.

Dolla - Sextapes the Art of Seduction (Mixtape Review)

This is Dolla's first mixtape and as you can imagine from the cover it's all about sex. Dolla has some pretty clever lines on this tape and you will probably find yourself laughing from time to time at the stuff he says. The flow is interesting and Dolla finds really unique ways to rhyme. A lot of times it's just the way he says things that rhyme but not the words themselves. Dolla can also rap at different speeds; the mixtape showcases a variety of tracks that flow at different rates. Don't listen to the mixtape if you aren't into pussy. I think he says pussy 103 times. This is pure fun, so don't go into it expecting more than that.

U-God – Dopium (Album Review)

U-God is widely accepted as the worst lyricist and least popular member of the original Wu-Tang Clan founders. Many have used him as a metric when comparing the best and worst rappers in hip-hop. Although his first album did go gold, it is not considered an album of high critical acclaim. His follow up material did not receive the same level of success as his first. However, this new album really surprised me. The production on this is some raw Wu production. It is reminiscent of the classic Wu albums. U-God’s lyrics on this are top-notch as for what he is capable of. All of the guest spots/collabo’s worked really well on here, too. We will see what others are saying, but I think this is the most consistent and strong Wu-tang release in years. I do not think this album will do well commercially, but it will definitely blow away the expectations of many skeptical Wu-tang fans. Most of the songs (aside from the remixes) have strong replay-ability. The standouts on here are Dopium, Coke, God Is Love, Magnum Force, New Classic, Rims Pokin Out, Stomp the Roach Remix, and Train Trussle basically the entire album. It is going to raise eye brows, but I am giving U-god a 4.5/5 on this. This shit is HOT.

50 Cent - War Angel EP (Mixtape Review)

Do you remember when 50 Cent came out, or even before he really became popular? Hearing that coin drop…Many Men…Your Life’s on the Line. Well I do, and that is what holds me back from the majority of his music. The fact is that after he gained his mainstream success he changed and gave up trying to rap. His lyrics/music lost any type of substance they had before his success. Many fans, including me, felt betrayed. When he first came out every rap fan was feeling him. No one can deny that. But, because he basically gave up rapping with substance and just started bragging about money, many of his fans (any of those with intelligence) saw through his fake image and were disgusted. That is the situation we are in now. Only true 50 fans remain on his side now and he will probably never recover the others. I saw this mixtape the other day and was curious as to how 50 would come out on here. The cover looked pretty damn cool. It made me think he might get serious and make some real music worth listening to. This was not the case. I will admit he may have tried a little harder this, but it is still the same old lazy 50 Cent who let his music go immediately following Get Rich Or Die Trying. Listening to this, it reminded me of how talented he is (or could be). You can see that even when he isn’t trying he can still make hooks that are so fucking infectious. However, when you really think about what you are listening to you come back to reality and realize it’s nothing special. The cover made this seem like it was going to be some dark/evil/serious shit; don’t be fooled it’s just the same old lazy 50. Fans who stayed loyal to him after his success will love this because he seems to have tried slightly harder than average compared to the past 5 or 6 years. This will definitely not be summoning old 50 fans to come running home. The standouts were Cream 2009, Cocaine, and Talking in Codes. This mixtape gets a 3/5, slightly above failing.

1. I Line Niggas
2. Talking In Codes
3. OK, Alright
4. Redrum (Murder)
5. Cream 2009
6. I’ll Do Anything
7. London Girl
8. Better Come On Your A Game
9. Get The Message
10. Cocaine Ft. Robin Thicke
11. I Gotta Win

Drake - So Far Gone (Mixtape Review)

I've been listening to this tape for a week now every chance I get, doing my best to actually like it, since everyone around me is saying this dude is changing the game and shit. Honestly Drake is one of the worst rappers I have ever heard. His attempt at mixing rnb and hip hop fails horribly. Maybe he should try to do one or the other because as it stands now, he is just half-assing both. When he is singing there is a lack of depth to what he is saying. Most of the time it’s just something catchy repeated over and over. When Drake raps, he just rhymes every line with the last, over and over. The dude has no flow, no style, no charisma, and nothing to rap about. Sorry but this is nothing more than Lil Wayne’s retarded rnb/hiphop fusion offspring. There are two songs I liked, Successful and Best I ever Had.

1/5

01 Lust For Life
02 Houstatlantavegas
03 Successful (Feat. Trey Songz & Lil' Wayne)

J. Cole - The Warm Up (Mixtape Review)

I never heard of J. Cole before yesterday, and honestly didn't expect much from his mixtape but I was pleasantly surprised by The Warm Up. Cole is versatile and is able to rap on a variety of different topics. He doesn't need to rely on beats or hooks, I found myself truly enjoying his flow. You wont be able to tell where one verse ends and another begins, the dude just keeps on going. The best part about Cole is that he doesn't need corny rhymes to keep a verse together, which is something a lot of rappers are doing these days. I don't think you'll hear any of his tracks being played in the club but there are no bad songs here. Play it from beginning to end, rinse and repeat.

4.5/5

Hot TYGA Track (Music Video)

Tyga - Cali Love

Dolla. November 25,1987 – May 18, 2009

Dolla was born Roderick Anthony Burton II in Chicago, Illinois. He was born a twin but his brother died at birth, leaving Dolla as the only boy among two sisters. In 1991 Dolla and his family moved to California, in search of a better life. Life, however, took a turn for the worse. When Dolla was just five years old, his father decided to take his own life. This loss forced the family to move again to Atlanta, GA in an effort to recoup.

At 10 years old, Dolla was the man of the house and doing his best to support the family. Having begun writing rhymes in elementary school, he drew inspiration from his mother’s love of classic soul singers like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. At 12 years old Dolla was rapping in showcases around his hometown as part of Da Razkals Cru with friends, Scrappy and Sas. In 2001 they signed to Elektra Records and in 2003 the group released a single titled "So Fly". Unfortunately the song went nowhere and so did the group. They were dropped from the label that same year.

Fortunately being signed to Elektra allowed Dolla to develop a relationship with both Diddy and Akon. Diddy took Dolla under his wing as a model for the Shaun John clothing line, allowing him to travel the country and get his face up on the billboard above the Hyatt Hotel in Los Angeles. Akon was able to do a lot more for Dolla. Konvict Music signed a joint venture with Dolla's recently formed production company, called The Gang Entertainment. Once the joint venture was official, Dolla was signed to Jive.

Dolla was hard at work on his his debut album, Dolla & A Dream when he was gunned down in the parking lot of the Beverly Center mall in Los Angeles, California. Police later arrested Aubrey Louis Berry, 23, at Los Angeles International Airport. He is believed to be responsible for Dolla's murder.

RIP Dolla.

D-Block – No Security (Album Review)

The LOX members of the D-Block gang have been grinding hard for over ten years. They still have yet to gain the mainstream success many believe they are due. All of the LOX boys are talented rappers and have their own unique styles, but most of their solo releases could have done better with better production. This new D-Block “album” is average at best. It is clearly just a random compilation of songs. There are a few good ones on here. Some of these tracks have been floating around the mixtape scene for quite a while. The original LOX crew are the only members of D-Block worthy of any mention on this. The standouts are Get That Paper, So Much Trouble, From the Block, and Hello (all of which I have heard before). If you are a fan pick this up, but if you are on the edge about D-Block I would pass on this one, 3/5.

1. So Much Trouble (feat. Sheek Louch, Styles P, Bucky & Beanie Sigel)
2. Thrilla (feat. Sheek Louch, Snyp Life, Large Amount & Tommy Star)
3. Show Em (feat. Don D, Ty & OJ Da Juiceman)
4. Get That Paper (feat. Sheek Louch, Styles P, Jadakiss & S.I.)
5. Get Ya Bounce On (feat. Large Amount, AP, Bully & Webstar)
6. From The Block (feat. Sheek Louch, Styles P, Bully, Ty & Tommy Star)
7. That’s D-Block (feat. Styles P, Bucky, Straw, Large Amount, AP & Snyp Life)
8. Round And Round (feat. Large Amount, Ap, Bully & Tommy Star)
9. Hello (feat. Sheek Louch, Large Amount, Ty, Bucky & Red Café)
10. Brother’s Keeper (feat. Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, Styles P & Bully)
11. Hustler’s Prayer (feat. Styles P, Bully & Straw)
12. Like That Ya’ll (Remix) (feat. Sheek Louch, Styles P, Jadakiss, AP, Straw & Snyp Life)

Brotha Lynch Hung – The Gas Station (Mixtape Review)

Brotha Lynch Hung is from the west coast. He falls into the horrorcore rap genre. He has been running that scene on the west coast for a few years. However, I never really gave him a chance until now. His music feels like if you gave Goodie Mob a bunch of guns and knives and told them to go on a killing spree. It is basically hard core “sick” shit. His style is not exactly gangster; it’s on a darker level. Regardless of the subject matter, this dude can flow and has a completely original sound. I am sorry I never got into him before because this tape is hot. Putting the skits aside, this guy just has something that keeps you listening. I can’t really say which tracks are standouts because, other than the skits, I am feeling them all. If the skits weren’t so annoying this rating would be higher, but it gets a 4/5.

I may have to dig out some of his old music if you guys are feeling this. Let me know.

Laws – Your Future Favorite Rapper (Mixtape Review)

I found this mixtape posted on MixTape Torrent and downloaded it because there were no comments on it. I usually like mixtapes that that are least popular on that site. The majority of fans on there are either Gucci or Wayne fans, or both. MTT still posts everything, but a lot of good material gets slept on, like this mixtape. Laws is an underground artist from Tampa, FL. His voice and flow reminds me of Lupe, only less annoying. Regardless of what his voice sounds like, he is definitely a talented up-and-comer as far as lyrics, flow, and substance. This mixtape was co-signed by DJ Smallz. I think it came out great, but most people will probably overlook this. I enjoyed most of the tracks on here. Laws is destined for some mainstream success in the near future. My favorite tracks on this are Free, Bring Justice, Rain, Boom, and most of all the Electric Feel Rmx. Check this one out guys, 4/5.

Finale - A Pipe Dream and a Promise (Album Review)

Finale is a Detroit underground rapper who falls into the smooth hip-hop category. He is very lyrical and has a unique flow which makes everything he says sound like a tongue-twister. His debut album has already gained unanimous hip-hop critical acclaim, and I agree it is well deserved. His subject matter is covers the struggle of himself as a musician on the come-up. He also reveals some of the hardships facing the local economy in Detroit with the recent collapse of the Big 3 automakers. In other words he is very relatable to the average American. This album is full of amazing lyrics and pristine production from the late great J. Dilla. The only downside to this album is that some listeners may find that Finale’s flow to sound the same on every song. This happened to me on the first listen. I would recommend listening to this album a few times before you make your judgment. Nonetheless, this was a great album from an up-and-coming Detroit emcee, 4/5.

Mos Def – The Ecstatic (Album Review)

Mos Def has not been one of my favorite emcees in hip-hop. I am not saying he isn’t great artist, but I never really identified with him. I am not sure why. He is just one of those artists whose style I just didn’t blend with. However, his new release The Ecstatic has won me over (but only slightly). I am sure that Mos fans will be ecstatic with the release of this new album. The mood on this album is strictly positive/uplifting and he reminds you with “having a good time…every daaay” repeated a few times throughout. Mos can seem corny at times, but I still feel like he is tasking hip-hop in the right direction. This album follows suit to Mos’s desire to be different from the rest of the hip-hop world (this may have been what kept me away from him earlier in his career). It is hard to predict the direction that he is going to go in next: from a song about magic and the boogey man to a song entirely in Spanish. The track Auditorium is definitely the most standout track on here, featuring old school innovator: Slick Rick. Overall, the album was a great release from Mos. If you can get into his style (more than I can) you will be rewarded here, 4/5.

01. Supermagic
02. Twilite Speedball
03. Auditiorium Ft. Slick Rick
04. Wahid
05. Priority
06. Quiet Dog Bite Hard
07. Life In Marvelous Times
08. The Embassy
09. No Hay Nada Mas
10. Pistola
11. Pretty Danger
12. Workers Comp.
13. Revelations
14. Roses Ft. Georgia Anne Muldrow
15. History Ft. Talib Kweli
16. Casa Bey

Cage - Depart From Me (Album Review)

Cage is a rapper in his own world, away from the influence of mainstream hip-hop. And that world is full of abuse and drugs, which makes for perfect rap subject matter. If you are not into the possibility of emo/phsycadelic hip-hop, you will definitely not be feeling Cage’s “sophomore” solo release, Depart From Me. However, this is right up my alley. It is reminiscent of Slim Shady Lp only on a slightly darker level. Cage has a unique delivery which switches up almost every track on here. El-P and Blockhead’s production both work perfectly for cage’s style. I enjoyed every track on here. Cage pours his entire life on to wax with this album and nothing is held back; all of which make for an unforgettable album. The real standout tracks were Nothing Left to Say and Katie’s Song. The remaining songs were lyrically and conceptually equal, but the chaotic symphony of production found on the two previously mentioned songs push them to the top. 4.5/5.

I would be giving this album my first ever 5 in an album review, but Cage spends too much time with my one true enemy Shia Labeouf. I WON’T FORGET WHAT HE DID TO MY TRANSFORMERS.

01. Nothing Left To Say
02. Beat Kids
03. Dr Strong
04. I Found My Mind In CT
05. I Lost It In Havertown
06. Teenage Hands
07. Eating Its Way Out Of Me
08. Kick Rocks
09. Katie’s Song
10. Strain
11. Fat Kids Need An Anthem
12. Look At What You Did
13. Depart From Me
14. I Never Knew You
