Rain is an underground MC from North Carolina. He dropped out of school at age 14 and headed to New York to try his luck in the mecca of rap. Rain has a really smooth delivery and spits intelligent lyrics. His only fault may be that his flow is so low-key sometimes you can miss out on the concepts. He is not running around claiming to be a gangbanger. He tells stories from the hood that show the darker side of humanity. This new mixtape from Rain showcases his ability as a story telling rapper. Don Cannon's production works well for him by providing Rain with the chill beats that he can shine on. My favorite track on here is the Lady In The Red Dress. On this track Rain is telling an ill story about fucking with the wrong lady all over a jazzy beat that sounds like it could have been pulled out of an old black and white mystery movie. The other Standouts on this were Toast To Life, Buried With A Secret, Gettin It In, Here We Go Again, How U Want It, and It’s Alright. This shit is hot guys download this now, 4/5.
