Travis Porter has the goofy vibe that you expect from the cover of this mixtape, Im A Differenter, except the three of them are also from the south which magnifies it 10x. These dudes' voices sound like a cross between lil Wayne and Rich Boy neither of which impress me. Not only do they sound like them, but they are even goofier than them both which is no easy accomplishment. The production on this was was good, but sounded like the standard ATL beats that we have all heard 100X. When they rapped I could hear periodic points of talent. However, their content is childish and mindless. Their best song, Turnt Up, is a memoir on how they turn the radio all the way up when driving. They rap as if they are talking to an infants. I was ready for one of them to try and tickle me through the radio. When it was over I didn't want to hear any hip hop for the rest of the day. Garbage, garbage, garbage, 1.5/5.

ReplyDeleteYea it's true I don't know shit about Travis Porter. I just listened to the mixtape, hated it and wanted to crack my ipod in half after listening to it. If you guys are thinking this is the greatest shit in the world I don't know what to tell you. Im A Differenter is one of the worst songs I have heard in my 15+ years listening to hip hop. I don't think I can even call it music. I've seen videos with these guys and the are normal in them, but as soon as the record button goes on in the studio they are like on crack. I don't get it. Your right, though, I was wrong. Sorry about the mistake. I even re-listened to it but I still hate the shit. I was just giving you guys MY opinion about the music. I think this mixtape was pretty good. I also think that Travis Porter are great artist, they give people a break from all the trap music(not that there's anything wrong with it)but every1 dont live that thug lifestyle. I think Travis Porter are making music fun again.

Kid and Play made party music that didn't involve gangbanging but they managed to due it with lyrical finesse. I guess this is just another contribution in the moral/social/intellectual decay of society today.
